Kelsey Mora, a dual-certified child-life specialist and therapist, is also the author of The Dot Method and the Chief Clinical Officer of Pickles Group. As the daughter of a cancer survivor, Sheena has volunteered with Pickles Group since their start and loves the work that Kelsey and Pickles Group are doing to support kids as they navigate what can be a really challenging journey for a family.

Season 2, Episode 9: Interview with Little Kitchen Academy
In this episode, Jenny & Sheena had the opportunity to talk to Phable Meyerhoff, one of the owners of Little Kitchen Academy (Plainfield & Lincoln Park locations). Little Kitchen Academy is a Montessori-inspired cooking academy for children ages three through teens. Students learn to make recipes utilizing seasonal, locally grown, and organic produce and ingredients, and they get to enjoy the fruits of their labor for a "scratch to consumption" experience at the end of each lesson. All students are welcome in this fully inclusive program, including those with learning or other disabilities. The program, which is nut, meat, poultry, and seafood free, also can accommodate those with gluten, dairy, or other allergies.
“We know that our families really value healthy living at all ages. We provide students with the opportunity to learn the critical life skill of preparing healthy meals for themselves and others,” said LKA Plainfield co-owner Rand Barba. “Our tag line is ‘changing lives from scratch,’ and that’s truly what we get to do at LKA. Students participate in every step of the process from selecting their tools, measuring their ingredients, tasting and making adjustments to recipes as needed. Our team meets each student where they are as an individual.” Their Plainfield, IL location is already open, with a Lincoln Park location opening this fall and Naperville in 2024!
